Rural Geriatric Care
After a decade of urban geriatric care, we've extended our mission to rural Bengal. We trained local women in geriatric care, equipped them with medical gadgets (pressure, blood sugar, weight, and temperature monitors) and bicycles. These dedicated caregivers now visit 500 seniors aged 65+ monthly, spending 30 minutes with each, monitoring vitals and offering emotional support. In just four months, this initiative has created strong bonds, with seniors eagerly anticipating visits. This project aims to enhance the mental and emotional well-being of our elderly community, ensuring they feel valued and cared for.
The Urban Geriatric Day-Care Project
Seek & Connect collaborates with the The Geriatric Association to provide a research based project that runs a day care for marginalised and impoverished elder women from the slums of Mukundapur, West Bengal. It is a self funded program and donations are raised through the Give portal. The funds are used to provide food, enhance the quality of life by engaging in vocational training, medical facilities, therapeutic intervention and entertainment activities.

Empowering Rural Bengal with AI
Over the past six months, we've embarked on an exciting journey to generate income for the women of rural Bengal. By connecting with a company specializing in training data for generative AI, we've opened up new opportunities. This company needed help to reach deep into rural areas, and we leveraged our local connections to bridge that gap, motivating and training the participants. 💡
Participants, equipped with a multilingual app, are contributing to AI training data without the need for English proficiency. By working from their smartphones for a few hours for a task, they're seeing a substantial supplemental income, earning about ₹500 per task, with a potential of ₹2,000 over six months. 📱💰
This initiative is lighting up a path for AI in rural India, showing that technology can indeed empower and create new avenues for growth. We’re excited for what the future holds! 🚀
